I took a shop class in high school that showed me how to enamel. In my twenties I bought a small trinket kiln and beginner supplies. At that time I had no idea there was transparent and opaque enamels! In the beginning I had to write (snail mail) to dozens of copper companies in the world to figure out where to get enameling supplies. Of all the replies I got back, Thompson Enamel was one and the most important one to me now and then.

I have been an enameler for 30 years or so. I use a propane torch to fire the glass on the copper stones.
